Precision Brain Mapping for Personalized TMS Targeting

Transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) is used clinically to treat depression, but the choice of stimulation target varies widely in practice. Targets may come from scalp-based heuristics, from group-average functional maps, or from an individual’s own functional connectivity.
This project investigates precision brain mapping for personalized TMS by directly comparing empirical, group-level, and individualized targeting strategies. I am assessing how much each approach actually improves targeting precision, how much data it requires, and where the practical trade-offs lie for clinical use.
